Does Makeup Exercise Cause Acne?

I don’t use makeup to exercise, but I don’t judge either – in part because the heaviest makeup I’ve ever seen in the gym was done by an average person who was super drunk. Whatever she did, it worked for her! But I’ve often heard whispers about those people who train in makeup. Doesn’t that ruin their skin ??

Presumably, makeup will “close the pores” and when you sweat, you get acne. Fortunately, dermatologist Fane Frey says this is not the case:

Based on both my clinical experience as a dermatologist and my knowledge of the available research on cosmetic acne, as well as my personal experience (I wear makeup and exercise like the devil), I believe that the composition / composition of ingredients in makeup / moisturizers one choice is more important in determining comedogenicity.

In other words, certain foods can contribute to acne (although very difficult to prove!), But the overall combination of makeup and sweat is not responsible.

Apparently not the sweat itself. Studies like this have shown that even if you sit in a sweat for a few hours (it must have been fun to participate), you’re no more likely to get sick than if you shower right after your workout. …
