What’s in Store for and Out of Netflix in the Week of April 15, 2019

The Bridesmaids Executive Producers are bringing us a Someone Great Rom-com this weekend, and it really better be some cool stuff because I don’t watch Game of Thrones. Gina Rodriguez from Jane The Virgin plays the music journalist who last flopped with his best friends before leaving New York. It looks funny and ironic and everyone is vaping.

Looks very promising.

Does TV host Brené Brown have a new stand-up special? See if the trailer for Brené Brown: A Call to Courage (Friday) seems to bother you, in which Netflix appears to have increased TED’s production value and added cut-out footage of a laughing and crying audience, implying America’s Favorite “Shame Explorer” on the comedic ride of your life, a la Hannah Gadsby’s Nanette . It’s like one of those dissonant SNL commercials where someone very serious does something really stupid. Does Brown have Ray Romano ‘s chops? I love her and her Eileen Fisher draped ponchos despite this weird trailer, so I’m definitely going to find out.

You will be rolling down the aisles.
