Sprinkle the Ramen Powder on the Fries

I’m a high class socialite, so one of my favorite things to do when traveling is seeing what local talent has to offer at international McDonald’s, especially when it comes to dunking sauces and McFlurry options. I dined at Cadbury McFlurries in England and dipped my nuggets at La Sauce Curry in France, but this ramenflavored Shake Shake from Hong Kong is something really special.

Created in collaboration with Nissin, Cup o ‘Noodles / Top Ramen, the French fries sound like this: McDonald’s French fries flavored with ramen powder. Rather than covering whole batches of fries with the savory seasoning mixture, the powder comes in a separate bag along with a shaking bag to ensure that the seasoning is evenly distributed (hence the name).

It’s such a simple and obvious combination. As a well-known fan of both posts and ramen powder seasoning , I am frankly shocked and shocked that I haven’t tried this yet. Unlike most international fast foods I’ve tried, this is something that is easy to replicate at home. Just order fries or make your own, then sprinkle on your favorite bag of ramen powder, which, if you’re even a little like me, you already have.

You can even match cooking oil with your seasoning. If, for example, you like to cook fries in schmalz, try the chicken flavor or mix the beef lard fries with the beef powder (this unfortunately doesn’t work with shrimp, since shrimp fat doesn’t exist.) Also, I don’t understand why we should stop with french fries – why not all the fries ramen? Ramen-topped potato pancakes topped with a runny egg sound good, as does mashed potatoes.

Just do not shake the press machines in the paper bag. It won’t end well.
