Copy Emoji and Special Characters With CopyChar

We all have certain special characters that we use all the time, and finicky little ways to type them. You can google the name of the emoji, or download the menu bar app for copy and paste, or learn keyboard shortcuts for adding accents to letters. Another option is to bookmark CopyChar.cc .

CopyChar divides special characters into several categories, similar to how your phone’s keyboard classifies emoji. You can view letters, numbers, punctuation marks, math and currency symbols, arrows and emoticons.

You can also search for a symbol by name and CopyChar will update your results in real time. This is only marginally useful for emojis that have depressingly ambiguous names, but it’s great when you need to find a currency symbol or “that dot symbol.”
