Find the Cheapest Long Distance Vacation for Yourself and Your Love With This Tool

Long-distance relationships are tricky. When you’re involved in a romantic relationship with someone who doesn’t live in the same state (or country) you live in, figuring out how to bond can be a little … difficult.

This week, Kayak introduced a tool that made things a little easier. An online search tool called Rendezvous will help you find the cheapest place to fly to meet your long-distance trip based on the total cost of your airfare.

To use it, you enter both your home airports and the dates you want to travel to. Kayak will then use this information to figure out where it might be cheapest to meet, based on the total airfares for both of your tickets.

As someone who has made the horrific mistaken decision to date someone who has lived overseas from me, I can tell you that maintaining a moderately regular schedule of meeting each other is both challenging and challenging. Round-trip plane tickets from me to my ex’s house have cost anywhere from $ 200 at the best of times to almost grand at the worst. That is, $ 1000 was better spent in a different way.

The idea is that, firstly, it might be cheaper and easier for you to meet on the weekend somewhere in between than one person traveling around the country. These flights can take up one day from each side, which collectively eats up two days of those precious three-day weekends you spend together, especially for cross-country romance.

Secondly, sometimes you may want to go on vacation with this person who is not in any of your homes. This can give you a good idea of where a smart choice might be for the two of you.

Of course, flights are only a fraction of the travel cost. You also need to think about things like hotel and food expenses, which can add up, perhaps to the point where they surpass all the savings you get in the middle.

It is worth taking a look at, though. It can also come in handy when you’re planning a trip with friends who don’t live nearby and need a little inspiration.
