Find Out Which Political Party Business Is Donating With This Extension

A few years ago, I stopped drinking beer, which I really liked because I found that its owners were making huge donations to a political candidate, which was contrary to almost everything I believe in.

In truth, I’m sure they weren’t missing out on the $ 10-15 I spent every month on their beer, but I didn’t like the idea that I could financially support someone in any way. whom I considered morally reprehensible and I did not want to support the people who supported him. At that time, I was actively fighting this person. When I bought beer, I felt that I was acting against my own interests.

In my case, the brewery made these donations for a while before I discovered they were happening. Companies are making donations to PAC and candidates on a regular basis, some on both sides of the aisle at the same time, so it can be difficult to track them down. Progressive Shopper is a Chrome extension that CNET pointed to earlier this week that could make this task easier.

As the name suggests, the extension is for people with left leaning politics, but anyone can use it.

With its help, the site will inform you about the recent political donations that the company has made to both Democrats and Republicans. Data taken directly from the Federal Election Commission (FEC).

The renewal currently applies to donations during the 2016 electoral cycle as well as the 2018 electoral cycle through September 18, 2018.

The extension will provide you with a breakdown of how much money was sent to each side and then recommend if you should spend your money there. The advice on whether to buy or not will obviously be for Democrats, but the information is useful for everyone.

Recommendations are in blue if a company gives 60% or more of its political donations to Democrats, purple if it gives relatively equally across party lines, and red if it gives 60% or more of its political donations to Republicans.

Just because a company is hosting a party in the first place that you don’t participate in doesn’t mean you shouldn’t shop there. I think there are great people on both sides of the aisle to support. However, if the results are drastically skewed in the wrong direction for you, it may be worth doing a little research on where your cash might end up before using this credit card.
