Try These Lemmings Games for IOS and Android Instead of Sony’s Crappy Port

iOS / Android: The classic Lemmings experience is finally (and officially) available for your smartphone. After spending many hours cursing the stupidity of these digital creatures, I would usually be very happy to solve their many logistical problems on the road, while standing or sitting in bed. Unfortunately, Sony did indeed pierce this mobile port.

For those who missed out on this incredible early 1990s puzzle, the basic idea is simple. You have a small army of creatures – green-haired lemmings – who need to get from point A to point B without falling victim to some terrible disaster. Your goal is to prevent them from doing things they shouldn’t, such as going down a cliff by assigning special tasks to the lemming. Some can prevent your lemmings from going a certain way (to their destruction); some may build ladders to take your constantly marching army to its destination.

Lemmings were, and always have been, the perfect blend of frustration and fun. Lemmings for iOS and Android is the first rather than the last, as Sony went overboard with its free mechanics. You cannot buy the game right away. As Engadget points out , completing the game’s levels consumes “energy” and you have to wait until it accumulates in order to play more lemmings . Of course, you can always pay to refresh your energy, but the best you can do is a $ 7 “unlimited” in-app purchase that lets you play as much as you want in just two hours. Lame.

For those who are annoyed by Sony’s money grabbing, there are several Lemmings alternatives to try on your smartphone:

Caveman (iOS, Android)

(iOS in normal , lite , HD and HD lite versions , and Android . Lite are free, normal $ 3, HD $ 5.)

This game is an faithful recreation of the Lemmings gameplay and I love that you can try it without paying a dime.

Zombie! ( iOS , free)

Lemmings are like mindless zombies in a way, so this theme makes sense. And nobody cares if something undead dies, right?

Kiwanuka ( iOS , Android , $ 1-4)

This game looks great, and I’m already intrigued by the first review of this game that hit the App Store: Lemmings for Momentary Attention. The fact that you can use your tiny creature as bridges instead of building bridges is adorable.

Perfume ( iOS , $ 3)

In this title, your lemmings are actually spirits that rise from fallen leaves, and you can only assign them one of four “tasks” to help others get to their destination: build a bridge of leaves, create a billowing cloud, dig tunnels. , or block wind currents. The visualization of this puzzle is amazing to say the least.

Bunny Mania 2 ( Android , $ 1)

This Android game has a terrible name, but its gameplay is similar to lemmings – only with rabbits. Luckily, the game has a hint system in case you don’t want to get too frustrated playing puzzles on your smartphone.
