What Are You Grateful for This Year?

Happy Thanksgiving Lifehacker readers. As much as you celebrate, we hope your days are filled with family, friends, butter, carbohydrates, and of course, delicious turkey .

This year I am grateful to my family, friends, work, health and generosity of people who helped each other, disaster after disaster. It has been a difficult year in many ways , but I am grateful for the opportunity to read, study, write and share my thoughts with all of you. This is what the rest of our employees would like to thank for this year:

Heather Huss, video producer

I am grateful for my health and for my lovely little family. I am grateful to my children for spending time with their father during the day while I am at work and not in kindergarten. I am grateful that I get a great job every day and work with people who help me better in what I do. I am grateful to my friends, although most of them are in Wisconsin – I am grateful that they are always ready to talk to me when I feel far away. I am grateful for the fond memories of my family during the holidays when I was a child – which I have something to share with my children. Finally, I am grateful to live and thrive in the largest, most complex, and craziest city in New York!

Beth Skorecki, Health Editor

I am grateful for the cheap gym just outside my house. It’s not trendy, it doesn’t have crossfit classes or even a decent locker room with shower, but I can get there in 15 minutes after I get out of bed. It’s never too crowded here and they now have two squat cages. Thank you for a cheap gym nearby.

Nick Douglas, staff writer

I am grateful to my brilliant and breathtaking wife, who would be intimidating if she weren’t so sweet. (Alicia’s note: Ouuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu!)

David Murphy, Senior Technical Editor

I am grateful that it finally rains in California so much needed that I can breathe again. Breathing is great, especially if you have planned 5K for Thanksgiving morning.

Alice Bradley, Associate Editor

I am very grateful this year to my family – including my Lifehacker family – but most of all for the fact that my father, who is fighting Alzheimer’s, is still here, still cheerful, and still knows who I am.

Virginia K. Smith, Managing Editor

This is basic, but this year I am grateful to my friends! I have had many reasons to appreciate all the incredible people in my life, and I am simply amazed that so much humor, kindness and intelligence surrounds me every day. I think I am very lucky. Not connected, but also important: almost every day I think about how grateful I am to be in a union.

Claire Lower, cookery editor

I am grateful to our alliance for making digital media work much less daunting.

Joel Kahn, video editor

I am grateful to Alicia! (Alicia’s note: Thank you Joel! I thank you too.)

What about you? What are you grateful for this year?
