How to Reunite With Pets Lost in California Wildfires

Pets and livestock have been separated from their people by wildfires in California, and rescuers have taken as many animals as possible to safety. If you are looking for a lost pet, many of the rescuers have posted pictures of pets on the Internet.

Unclaimed pets are believed to belong to the county animal services department, so start in the county where the animal was last seen, such as Ventura County (which sheltered 288 animals from wildfires) or Los Angeles County (where over 800 animals have sheltered). …

If you are not looking for a pet but would like to help, many pet support organizations accept donations in cash. Also consider if you can adopt or raise one of the pets that filled the shelters before the fire.
