You have a week before Christmas music starts seeping into every crevice of the soundscape. So let’s throw one last hurray of Halloween music. With the help of my colleagues at Gizmodo Media, some YouTube recommendations, and old episodes of Dr. Demento, I created a playlist (inserted above) of 52 Halloween songs.
Highlights include “Thriller”, the theme of “Ghostbusters”, the haunting theme of trades, made famous by MST3K, “Red Right Hand” by Nick Cave, a live lip-sync «The Monster Mash» and «This Is Halloween» – which, to be honest , is one of them. of the least creative chorus in music history, but hey, it works.
There’s a chilling remix of “Mr. Sandman, “which just slows the song down a bit, and a few compilations: one of the ’20s and’ 30s Halloween songs, one of the lesser-known creepy music from the Vintage Obscura subreddit, and one of the great Halloween commercials.
Some of these songs are accompanied by cartoons and music videos; some just play in the background while you ~~ get naughty ~~. Add your favorite Halloween songs below and we’ll all stay away from the Christmas bastard.
