These Are the Best Countries for Foreigners to Work.

If you are planning to relocate to another country for work, some destinations are better than others. HSBC recently conducted its annual Expat Explorer survey, a global survey of 22,318 expats from 163 different countries. When comparing countries based on economy, experience and family life, the big winner in the group was Singapore, where 47% of respondents said they were making more money and believed their health and well-being had improved in that country.

If you want to make more money, Switzerland is your best bet. People who moved there for work saw an average annual income of $ 61,000, bringing the average salary of expats to $ 203,000.

You can compare countries yourself using the HSBC web tool . The ratings can be expanded to places where people have the most savings or disposable income, or to places where people think they have a good work-life balance. They are all concentrated in the same categories: personal finance, local economy, and career.

According to the survey, the best countries for all three are as follows:

  1. Singapore
  2. New Zealand
  3. Germany
  4. Canada
  5. Bahrain
  6. Australia
  7. Sweden
  8. Switzerland
  9. Taiwan
  10. United Arab Emirates

Obviously, your experience can vary depending on what you do for a living, what your financial affairs are right now, and how much people need to work in your profession in your chosen country. However, if you are planning to move overseas, this is a good short list to start with.
