Our wine and spirits expert Jake Cahill of Brooklyn’s Vanderbilt Wine Merchants gives the newly engaged couple some tips on what to look for when looking for inexpensive sparkling wine. As Jake explains, “champagne” comes from a specific place (like champagne in France) and is produced in a specific way. However, you can find other wines from other places that have a similar taste and texture but do not technically have the official name “champagne”.
