What to Do If Your Snapchat Streak Disappeared

If you use Snapchat every day, chances are good that you have at least one or two people that you film regularly, and maybe even every day. People who click each other every day can get Snapstreak; a small number with a flame next to it that keeps track of how long you click each other. Some people (see: Teens) invest heavily in this number, doing their best to keep the streak going.

How do Snapstreaks work?

In case you’re not already familiar, Snapstreak is the number of consecutive days that you and your friend sent each other snaps. According to Snapchat’s rules , a streak starts after you send snaps to each other for more than three days in a row. You will know because that person will have an emoji – and your streak, the number of days you’ve photographed each other, next to their name. According to MakeUseOf , if you save a streak for 100 days, you will also receive a ? emoji next to their name.

Since Snapchat doesn’t personally track every streak, the word “day” literally means “over the next 24 hours” – to help keep the streak going, Snapchat will alert you when the streak is about to expire by placing an emoji next to your friend’s picture. title.

For the sake of getting a streak, it’s important to know what Snapstreak counts. First, Snapstreaks only refers to snapshots – photos and videos, not chat, so you have to send each other images or videos every day. (Fun fact: video calls count as chats, not snapshots, so they don’t count.) Pictures must be sent to your individual channel. Sending a photo to a group chat with your streak partner will not count towards your streak. They must also be new snapshots: snapshots saved in “memories” are not counted. It’s unclear exactly why, but Snap Spectacles still don’t count.

How to save Snapstreak

So let’s start with the obvious: to continue the streak, both you and your friend need to put in enough effort to keep grabbing each other every day.

It sounds pretty damn tiresome, to be honest.

If you stay in it for a long time though, you will find a way. Streaks will naturally come and go as your relationship with friends changes: if streak is important, for whatever reason, you might have to do a little work.

If you are both on the same page about a series – that this is important to you and should be protected at all costs … I suppose – you can remind each other of this. You can write this in the picture or send them a chat message later to remind them. There is nothing better than panicky text when the hourglass appears to save the magic.

What to do if your streak is gone

It is known that even with all the efforts in the world, people are losing Snapstreak due to technical reasons. If your streak disappears for no reason, you can contact Snapchat support and ask them to reactivate and they’ll do it. The company knows (and develops this concept) that for some it makes a big difference.

Case in point: If you go to the Snapchat support site , one of the options for the contact form would be “My photos have disappeared”.

Clicking on this option creates a drop-down form that asks for your account and series information. Give Snap your info and tell what happened. They’ll ask, among other things, who you filmed with, how long the streak lasted, and what day it ended. After you submit the form, Snap will investigate. if they find that the strip is deactivated by mistake, they will restore it.

If that doesn’t work, you just have to try again. You and your friend can always pretend the episode is never over. Who will know?
