How to Stream Apple’s Big Event for IPhone on Wednesday
Apple is holding its annual September event on Wednesday, September 12th. If you haven’t received an invitation to an exclusive meeting (like us), Apple broadcasts everything live so you can follow her at home … or in the office … or while you have to work. this big project. Here’s everything you need to know about Wednesday’s event:
When does the Apple event start?
The event will officially kick off at 1:00 PM ET / 10:00 AM PT. Traditionally, an Apple event lasts from one to two hours, but the timing may vary. Plan for about two hours, with the option of slightly more or less depending on the number of announcements and updates.
Apple’s iPhone announcement is usually near the end of a presentation, but in recent years it’s getting closer – don’t let an untimely bathroom break cause you to miss an important discovery.
Where can I stream this?
You have several options. While Apple used to make its events Safari-only (for web browser streaming), the company has since made it easy for you to stream in any browser of your choice. According to Apple on its official website for the September event, it is “best viewed on an iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch using Safari on iOS 10 or later; Mac using Safari on macOS Sierra 10.12 or later or a Windows 10 PC with Microsoft Edge. “
And, yes, you can still watch the stream in Chrome or Firefox. For the first time (in history) Apple is also going to broadcast the entire event on Twitter, and you can “cross” his post below to get an update (and presumably a link to a Twitter stream) when the event kicks off. :
If you have an Apple TV, you can stream your event directly to your TV using the Apple Events app on your device. You can also AirPlay from your computer to your TV if you like.
And if you miss the live stream, don’t worry. Not only will you be able to get updates on everything announced here (and many other places), Apple will also offer a full replay of the event on its website and Apple TV later in the day so you can catch up.
What Apple (likely) will announce
Apple traditionally uses the September event to announce its new iPhone, and it will definitely happen on Wednesday. Rumors also indicate that Apple is announcing a new version of the Apple Watch (Apple Watch 4), a release date for the previously announced AirPower wireless charger and possibly a new iPad. You may be hearing a lot more talk about USB-C this year than Apple’s (annoyingly proprietary) Lightning connection, and probably even more fooling around with augmented reality – much to the delight of dinosaurs and backyard robots.
Update (9/12): Added Apple Twitter feeds for the big September event.
