Apple’s Plan to Replace IPhone Battery Ends Soon

If you’ve been delaying battery repairs on your old iPhone, you only have a few months left to get a $ 29 battery replacement. Starting December 31, this replacement price will more than double to $ 79, even if you are eligible for a less expensive replacement program.

Apple will end its replacement program on December 31, 2018. Gadgethacks notes that the ending only applies to devices that are currently out of warranty. So, if for some reason you have an older device that is still covered by Apple’s warranty or Apple Care plan, you should be aware of.

The plan is available for iPhone 6, 6 Pus, 6s, 6s Plus, SE, 7, 7 Plus, 8, 8 Plus and X.

You can check online with Apple’s coverage checker to determine if your specific phone is covered.

The deal also only applies once per iPhone, so if you’ve already replaced the battery and run into problems again, you’re pretty much SOL.

Even if you don’t have a battery problem yet, it is in your best interest to replace the battery before the expiration date so you can avoid a potential problem after the program ends. …

And I personally recommend getting this phone repaired in the next month or so. As Thanksgiving and Christmas (and the upcoming iPhone release) approach, there will be a lot more people in the Apple Store. You are vastly better off fixing your phone before the holidays than trying to fight the crowd when it starts completely.
