We all know that off-season travel is usually cheaper than travel in the middle of summer. “Mid-season” – the period of travel between peak and off-peak seasons can offer the best of both worlds. You will have decent weather in the summer (or now, depending on the circumstances, in the fall), combined with reduced living and flight costs.
As someone who constantly decides to take a vacation at this time: it’s worth it. I absolutely hate standing in lines or trying to get into crowded rides. When you travel in the off-season (or right before it), you don’t have to face such a big problem, which makes visiting hotspots exceptionally enjoyable.
So where should you go? Based on Skyscanner flight data, Booking.com hotel price data, and a host of other factors, The Points Guy has just done its own research on where you could get the best off-season deal and picked six places worth your trip to. this fall:
Chicago : November is the cheapest time to visit the Windy City as hotel prices are 30% lower than usual in October and November. From September 22 to December 21, air tickets are also on average $ 20.95 cheaper.
San Jose del Cabo : Flights to San Jose del Cabo from September 22 to December 21 are on average $ 20 cheaper than other times of the year.
Copenhagen : I was in Copenhagen last December and had a great time. If you want to be like me, you can save an average of $ 189.78 on airfare by traveling from September 22 to December 21. You can get even more savings by choosing an airline like WOW Air, which offers one-way tickets for less than $ 180 to the city in September and October.
Barcelona : Flights to Barcelona in October and November are on average $ 144.06 cheaper.
San Diego : Visit the West Coast in October and November and save 32% on average on hotel stays. You can also save some money on the flight. Flights to San Diego between September 22 and December 21 are on average $ 15.58 cheaper than other times of the year.
