We all know that waking up with an alarm is the worst possible way to get up in the morning, although perhaps the most effective.

This is an interesting idea. While waking up from meditation is significantly less frustrating than the roar of an alarm clock, it can also be a little odd to wake up from the voice of someone leading you through meditation. I definitely found the first few unpleasant, but then I really appreciated the slow awakening rather than the fearful awakening.
If you do decide to give it a try, I would recommend making your first few tries on the weekend, when you don’t have to get out of bed by a certain hour. If you have a specific wake-up time, a second alarm won’t be the worst idea for the first few days either.
