MoviePass, a service that lets you watch a different number of movies with a different set of restrictions each month, recently switched to a three-movie-a-month plan. What will happen to the MoviePass clubs that go to the movies together ? How are they going to live in a world where MoviePass sucks? Let’s discuss this below in our discussion support group.

For some, the three-movie limit is tough, but according to MoviePass, it won’t even affect most subscribers. What really worries me is how the service started to darken the movies. On some days, subscribers can only watch one specific movie at most major cinemas. This is a qualitative violation of the original understanding: if you wanted to see a movie in the theater, your MoviePass was like cash.

Even now, some theaters (including my local CinĂ©polis) still have off-menu items. You can make a movie habit out of the current MoviePass, but it’s not worth it.

Even if the limited plans work for you, you can’t be sure MoviePass won’t change them again. In addition, the service continues to do unnecessary labyrinths, for example, unsubscribe people . MoviePass quality changes so often that we’re running out of movie theater photos to illustrate these blog posts.

Competing services have their own problems. Sinemia, which pays people to switch from MoviePass , also gets terrible customer reviews. When Sinemia became a cardless service, it started charging customers a service fee , says Lifehacker reader LooKe. A WhoaReally reader has several complaints :

The app is terrible, their customer service was out and Fandango canceled a purchase last month, but Sinemia still registered it and won’t let me get another ticket until a month has passed.

Readers tell us that AMC Stubs A-list works great. You just need to present ID with the e-ticket and of course this only works on AMC networks. Maybe a theater service that has a real reputation to be maintained and a business to be protected won’t screw up!

But if you don’t have a suitable AMC location near you, you screwed up. Well, screwed up that movie tickets would have to be paid like everyone else. Come in the comments and whine with me about this.
