How to Get Six Months of Apple Music for Free Through Verizon

Verizon announced that customers from any of the three unlimited traffic plans will receive 6 months of free Apple Music . And if you’re already subscribed to Apple’s music streaming service, don’t worry, you’re included too.

This is part of a deal that Verizon has worked with Apple, which has been reluctant to offer such Apple Music promotions until now. In the announcement, Verizon says it is “the first step in an exclusive partnership with Apple.” Other carriers have similar deals; AT&T has WatchTV and a choice of streaming music (besides Apple Music), T-Mobile is a Netflix partner, and Sprint has plans that include Tidal and Hulu.

From my point of view, Apple Music is a pretty sweet deal for a carrier. Apple Music continues to dominate Spotify in several areas (although I’m a Spotify fan myself), and the exclusive deal is a good carrot for Verizon. While the 6-month subscription cannot compete with the all-inclusive services offered by some of the other carriers, my guess is that the next step in this “exclusive partnership” will be to negotiate a more permanent solution.
