How to Add Emoji Keyboard to Google Chrome

Emoji are part of our general vocabulary these days, but they are not as easy to find on the desktop as they are on the phone. However, you can bring them there thanks to the Canary feature, developed by Google’s version of Chrome.

For the magic to happen, you first need to type chrome: // flags / into Canary’s address bar and then hit Enter. From there, scroll down the page (it’s a long way) to the “Emoji Context Menu” on the loaded page and then hit “Enable”. If you’re having trouble finding it, you can also search at the top of the page.

Then restart your browser. Now, whenever you want to use emoji, you just need to right-click the text box, select Emoji & Symbols, and the emoji menu will appear like magic.

Keep in mind that Canary is an evolving version of the browser, so it is “prone to breakage” as Google points out. It gets new features almost every day and can run concurrently with the stable version of Chrome, so you don’t have to use an unstable browser to try it (the Canary logo is yellow so you can tell them separately). You can get it here .
