Pocket-Run Pool Is the Best Billiards Game on IOS
iOS: For Apple enthusiasts, game developer Zach Gage is practically a household name. Apple not only loves to list an indie developer and his games on the App Store, but he has also won the Apple Apps Golden Palm, the coveted design award, as well as many other industry awards for his fun creations. Some of them you may know by name : Ridiculous Fishing, Sage Solitaire, Spelltower and the ever-disappointing Really Bad Chess. Or perhaps you’ve seen his latest creation: Pocket-Run Pool .
Gage’s secret sauce is to take regular games and activities and give them enough creativity to make them interesting and accessible without feeling unnecessarily wacky. Pocket-Run Pool seemed like it arrived with little or no pomp. I can’t even remember how I stumbled upon this, but I’m glad I stumbled upon. While the physics of the game requires a little training – it doesn’t quite feel like a fully realistic pool game – it’s totally forgivable given the fun of the game’s fun twist.
Your goal in Pocket-Run Pool is to pocket balls. You have a limited number of chances to make a “mistake” – or not to lose anything in one move, which slightly raises the bet. A unique aspect of the game is that each hole is assigned a specific point multiplier, and these multipliers change (or randomize) each time you plunge a ball. So, to get a great score, you need to make sure you aim for higher multipliers, which makes the pool strategy game even crazier.
The scoring aspect doesn’t really matter if you’re just playing the standard free version of the game alone – it just heightens your sense of accomplishment and gives you screenshots for your friends. The High Stakes Pool mode allows you to place bets with in-game currency to participate in challenges (and earn fake money to buy new cosmetic items).
Pay $ 4 to unlock the full game and you can compete in “Insta Tournaments” with other players around the world, as well as a “Weekly Break” game mode that gives everyone the same customization. and allows them to compete to see who gets the highest score.
Even if you’re just sticking with the standard version of the game, it’s pretty fun billiards with the slightest hint of disappointment – just like real billiards – when you realize you haven’t fired a shot powerful enough to drown the ball you were aiming at. Luckily, there should be enough melancholic music in the game to keep you from getting overwhelmed. And hey, there’s always the next game.
