Soak up Every Bite of the Morel Flavor by Toasting the Bread in the Leftover Butter

Morel mushrooms are two things: tasty and expensive. Whether you’re going to shell out the required dough (or struggling to piece it together), you need to make sure you can enjoy every bite of their rich meaty flavor.

Aside from properly cleaning and expelling the worms , the only thing you need to do is fry them in salted oil until golden brown, but this often leaves a pan full of morel-flavored oil. Of course, you can pour the mushrooms over them, but this will leave oil on the plate. Instead, you can toast a piece of bread in this oil and soak up every drop of greasy and earthy fat. After that, there is nothing left to do but enjoy your reward and then repeat the process as many times as you can afford until morel season is over.
