What Audiobooks Do You Like?

Minor confession time. I have never listened to audiobooks. Music ? Certainly. Podcasts ? When I’m driving, definitely. But an audiobook? I can read a little quickly , and it seems to me that I will just get bored to hear someone tell the text –even Benedict himself .

However, I may be in the minority about this. The popularity of audio books is clearly growing , and not only do you listen to them anymore (or perhaps first). Google finally added audiobooks to the Google Play store just this January, Walmart and Rakuten are working on a collaborative app for e-books and audiobooks, and even Spotify wants to draw attention to audiobooks by connecting them to your favorite bands.

Therefore, I humbly appeal to you, dear readers of Lifehacker: what is your favorite way of listening to audiobooks? What service or app do you use when you don’t have the time (or interest) to lug around a giant bestselling book wherever you go?

Since this is a Hive Five vote, let us know your favorites by posting a comment that looks like this:

Vote: [BEST AUDIOBOOK SERVICE]

Why: Here you’ll briefly explain why Audible is a must-have audiobook app, why you love Google Play Music, or why an app that no one else has heard of is something everyone else should be using right now. … As much as you love your particular app or service, keep the explanation short!

When writing a comment, keep everything in the format shown above. You can copy and paste the above example if it’s easier, just make sure you update the Why text. I will calculate the results in a few days and let you know which services attracted the attention of our readers.

Also, please don’t comment in a thread unless you vote, or the whole thread will become a processing nightmare. Thanks!
