Tell Us Your Travel Tips for Sydney Australia

Does the Sydney Opera House really exist beyond the global montage of disaster films? Let’s figure it out! This week in Hack Your City, we’re heading to Sydney, Australia’s largest city.

Every Monday on Hack Your City, we ask readers for the best tips about the city: driving tips, restaurant tips, entertainment, and any other tips for visitors and locals alike. Then, on Thursday, we present the best comments. We work in the USA and around the world.

Wikivoyage is fascinated by this city of 5 million, citing its “enviable reputation as one of the most beautiful and livable cities in the world.” We want to hear from the Sydney people (that’s what they are called!). What makes your city so livable? And what makes a visit enjoyable?

We need something that you won’t hear in a regular guidebook. What’s overrated and where should people go? What hidden treasure deserves some of this travel money? What are the common mistakes visitors make and how to fix them? How can you live like a local for a week (without bothering real locals)?

By the way, have you been to the Sydney Opera House? Should you watch the show completely from your nose ?

How does it feel to live in Sydney? If you moved from another location, what did you have to get used to? Where do you go when you need to get out of town?

It will be a while before Hack Your City returns to Australia, so feel free to provide general tips on how to visit the country. But we promise that we will return to Melbourne someday.

Leave your tips below and we’ll present the very best in a new post on Thursday.
