Happy Hour With 3 Ingredients: Relaxed French 75

Happy weekend and welcome back to Happy 3 Ingredient Hour , a weekly drinks column featuring very simple yet delicious libations. This week we’re making a sparkling cocktail that’s perfect for Mother’s Day or, well, well, actually, any Sunday: French 75.

Technically, French 75 is a four-ingredient cocktail that contains gin, lemon juice, simple syrup (or sugar cube), and champagne. Here we optimize things a bit by using lemonade, which is, after all, lemon juice and sugar water. As for the bubbles, keep things dry, but feel free to use any sparkling wine, be it champagne, prosecco, or cava. You can even use sparkling rosé with rosé lemonade ?? to make things even rosier for mom (or yourself). To prepare this drink you will need:

  • 1 1/2 ounce gin
  • 30 grams lemonade (try pink!)
  • Sparkling wine of your choice

Pour the gin and lemonade into the flute and stir a little. Top with chilled sparkling wine and enjoy a gourmet brunch.
