Shower Gel Is a Scam and You Influenced It

Millennials are accused of killing many aspects of everyday life. While I agree with uprooting some of these obsolete items (grab this, napkins and networked TV !), There is one victim here to be pardoned from death row.

I’m talking about simple soap. It went out of style, replaced by mostly shiny, sexy, seductive shower gel. But I call it body wash rubbish. Basically, it’s a puree, lumpy soap diluted with water that costs four times as much.

Just take a look at the ingredients. Appendix A: Dove Shower Gel . The first ingredient is water . Let’s compare that to B: Dove Beauty Bar . What is this very first ingredient? Why is it, sodium lauroyl isethionate … commonly called soap ! Now let’s compare the prices. On Amazon, a water / soybean oil smoothie sold as hygienic costs $ 4.73 a bottle, and reliable beauty bars $ 1.10 apiece.

Plus, each bar lasts at least twice as long as a shower gel bottle. With a bottle, you squeeze as much as you want each time (which is often too much). The bar is designed to give you just the right amount of soap for cleaning.

Now, if you think your soap bars aren’t as luxurious and moisturizing, now is the perfect time to splurge on something a little more sophisticated. (An expensive bar of soap will still cost a lot less than a cheap soap bar.) I love buying two packs of different soaps and alternating them every time I need a new bar of soap. This keeps the scents (and me) fresh every few weeks. If you really need to feel something soft caressing your delicate skin, buy some loofahs – just make sure there are enough of them to use a new one every day.

And let’s not forget the real injustice in using body wash: the poorly designed cap on Dove bottles prevents you from flipping it over to get the last leftovers. Someone is calling the Unilever family because now they are just joking with us.
