IOS 12 May Arrive on Your IPhone 5s

The news comes as a result of code being discovered in WebKit , the browser engine that Safari runs on. A script posted on Reddit seems to confirm that Apple has already tested iOS 12 on an iPhone 5S . The company is pretty good at keeping older devices up to date with the latest software updates and important security fixes, but the rollout of iOS 12 on the iPhone 5S will set a new record with six major iOS iterations on a single device.
iOS 12 could be a particularly welcome update for iPhone 5S owners, as Apple is reportedly focused on bug fixes and performance improvements for the update. Don’t expect a miracle, but iOS 12 can help give your old, stranded smartphone a new lease on life. The update could also add better parental controls, which is great news if your child is using a second-hand iPhone 5S – and you might even be able to FaceTime them (with animated emoji, of course) from your brand new iPhone X.
