Automatically Open YouTube Links in an Uncluttered Viewer

If you like using an alternative site to watch YouTube videos (like the minimalist Tube we recently shared , or the more minimalist Surprise.ly that we talked about a long time ago , then you can set up a Chrome extension that will redirect you every time. when you click on the YouTube link.

To redirect YouTube videos to Tube, install the Redirector Chrome extension. Open the extension in your Chrome toolbar, click Create New Redirect and fill it in as follows:

Description: YouTube to Tube Example URL: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1234 Include Template: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=* Redirect to: https: // tube. quinzel .tech / watch? v = $ 1 Pattern type: wildcard

(1234 is just a placeholder; you can enter another random string here. * Is a wildcard, and $ 1 means you want to keep the video id from the original url.)

Click “Save” and you’re done.

You can set up a similar redirect using Surprise.ly or any other YouTube viewer. And of course, you can use this extension to redirect any url to any other url.

If you don’t like dealing with wildcards and variables, try Requestly instead, which allows you to simply name the portion of the URL you always want to change, without using wildcards.
