Why I Always Keep These Three “Healthy Foods” in the Kitchen
I am not what you would call a “health food eater.” Although my mother supplied the home with this biblical sprouted bread, teen Claire simply stopped eating bread instead of making her sandwiches in the dry, coarse-grained ecosystem that is Ezekiel’s bread. However, my mom’s love of health food stores was to lead me to discover three of my favorite kitchen staples, all made according to the same kind of company difficulty .

And while the overzealous copies on bottles and shakers seem a little aggressive towards cheat eaters like me, I’m almost obsessed with their apple cider vinegar, their nutritional yeast, and their liquid amino acids.
First, all three products allow you to add flavor without excluding people from your dish. Whether you’re vegan or gluten-free, you can add acid, umami, or some cheesy goodness and still delight your friends. This is how I use them:
- Liquid Amino Acids: As I mentioned earlier , this product is similar to soy sauce and is a versatile condiment with tons of umami and a rich, slightly sweet flavor that’s great for soups, stews, stews, sauces, and cheese balls (especially this vegan cheese ball ). Use it as if you were using soy sauce and add it to anything that requires a touch of meaty balanced richness.
