Put Your Travel Itinerary on Your Phone’s Lock Screen

From time to time, for example when you fly on a plane, you need to constantly search for the same information on your phone. If this information is static and non-confidential, you can take a screenshot and make it your lock screen. Then it looks like a low tech widget that won’t change to you at an inconvenient moment.

If your phone’s clock and notifications get in the way, you can add all the information to your note taking app, add a blank space at the top, and take a screenshot. Sometimes the process is worth it; sometimes it doesn’t.

Other things you can add to your lock screen are driving directions; subway map in an unfamiliar city; emergency information; babysitting instructions.

It’s always a good idea to take a screenshot of your mobile boarding pass in case your browser or email app isn’t working properly at the gate. But don’t share your boarding pass online where someone might get personal information like your frequent flyer number.
