Try Samsung Galaxy S9 on Any Android Phone With This App
If you’ve been thinking about buying a Galaxy S9 but aren’t entirely sure if you’re ready to grit your teeth, Samsung has created a way for you to test drive your phone using your current device.
The Experience app for Galaxy S9 / S9 + can be installed on any Android phone running Android 6.0 or higher, and you can get a feel for what “S9 Experience” can be.
In fact, the best way to decide if you enjoy using your phone is to try it in person. If you are considering buying the S9, I would recommend heading over to your local mobile store (not even your carrier) and trying it out when it comes out next week. Seriously. Don’t spend $ 700 + on something you’ve never seen before, but plan to use it every day.
However, there is a lot to be said for learning more about the device before you head out to the store.
The app will tell you about the new features of the phone camera and how AR Emoji and Super Slow Motion work. He also explains the new facial recognition features in the S9, highlights the new location of the fingerprint sensor in the phone, and shows how the new Dolby Atmos speakers work.
It’s worth noting that most of these features will require S9 hardware to work, so you really get a rundown of features with this app, rather than a real simulation of the S9 experience. Most of the demos are videos showing how something might work if you had the S9 in your hand and not another device.
