How to Peel and Slice a Mango

My love for mangoes is deep and everlasting, but it cannot be denied that these are little slippery buggers that are difficult to peel off. Fortunately, there are two easy ways to peel great golden fruits, neither of which require disposable fruit tools.

For the first one, my favorite, you need a knife and a pint. The video shows how to do this, but all you have to do is cut each side of the fossa, and then, holding it firmly by the skin, insert the edge of the glass between the flesh and the skin. Throw away the evil skin (which I am very allergic to), slice up as usual and enjoy.

The second method is also quite simple, but requires more active peeling. Simply peel the fruit with a vegetable peeler, leaving two small circles on each side. Using these circles on the skin as gripping pads, slice the slippery pits, then remove the small circles and cut them into cubes as you like. (Yes, and if you are also allergic to mango peel, rinse the fruit before eating, otherwise your lips may swell in a very unattractive and uncomfortable way.)
