Learn a Foreign Language With This Mac Wallpaper
There are a number of online services that can help you learn a new language through daily practice. I am currently studying French on Duolingo, trying to reconstruct the eight years I spent in school and apparently forgot.
Depending on what language you’re trying to learn, a new desktop wallpaper can help speed up your learning.
The wallpapers , called Backwords , are currently only available for Mac computers and only for people who want to learn Dutch, Mandarin Chinese, Korean, or Japanese (Kanji).
Every day, the wallpaper displays a new word in the language of your choice. You can skip any words you already know (or don’t give a damn), and there are over 15,000 words available for each language, so it should be enough for you to stick with just one word a day for a few years. And don’t worry if you hate the crazy colorful background image, you can replace it with your own.
It is clear that even if you complete all 15,000, you will definitely not be fluent in any of them. If you want to fully learn a language, I recommend starting with Duolingo.
However, we all end up looking a little at our desktops every day. Typing just one word every day can be pretty fast, and wallpapers can be a great addition to any other language learning class (online or offline) you take.
