I’ve always dreamed of Opinionpedia to summarize the subjective stuff that Wikipedia doesn’t account for: is a certain group considered stupid, or a city considered ugly, or only older people like a certain book. The dating app Hater , which matches people based on what they love or hate, seems to satisfy that urge on its blog , displaying the views of Clinton and Trump supporters or the views of the most desirable and least desirable men .

A new story by data journalism site The Pudding, in collaboration with Hater, breaks down people’s opinions on dozens of topics by age . The methodology is not entirely scientific – all users are (in theory) lonely, and their choices are likely influenced by Hayter’s photographic illustrations – but the results show some interesting shifts in how people perceive things as they age.

We’ve picked some of the more interesting results above: The Backstreet Boys are popular with younger fans than, but not older than their original demographic. Free time is spent on young people. And while living with roommates may seem like a cool sitcom, most of us get frustrated the moment we actually do it.
