How to Ask Questions in the Q&A Section, Courtesy of McSweeney’s

The humorous blog Off-white McSweeney’s has a guide to asking questions in public events , written by writer and teacher Marya Crawford as a final exam. Questions include: “How long should my questions be?” and “This is a good opportunity to explain where the speaker is lying?” and the responses include: “Sit back” and “It is best to first tell a short story about yourself so that the entire audience understands how important you and / or your question are.”

This is perhaps more useful as a guide to etiquette than as a humorous passage, and we share it for that purpose, as people asking bad questions still exist, wasting other people’s time as if they weren’t even reading our own. guidance on how not to be a jerk with questions and answers.

So take the test and evaluate your own answers. If you are angry that there is no key to answer, then you have already lost.
