Prepare a (Partially) Savory Christmas Breakfast to Avoid Sugar Overload
Throwing fun candy into my Christmas stockings today, I thought, “ Oh, when I get something for the cinnamon rolls, I’ll need to buy an eggnog too,” that would be nice. And then the thought of that Christmas morning almost made me sick.
Cinnamon rolls. Eggnog. Mimosas. Stocking of sweets. Ten types of cookies. On the one hand, it is festive and tasty. On the other hand, my gut can’t handle it.
So, here is my new tradition of Christmas morning: cook something, anything, savory, not sweet. Add some fiber or, sacrilege, vegetables to your holiday pasta. Bake the egg with the cinnamon rolls. Bloody Mary instead of mimosa. Fried white and sweet potatoes. Brussels sprouts hashish. So by the time we move on to our next candy and cookie dinner, we’ll have another chance.
