No Fancy Tools Are Needed to Peel Peppers

Any pepper is a pain in the ass. Irregularly shaped, filled with bitter ribs and anywhere from 12 to 850,000 tiny seeds that make their way into the dark corners of your kitchen, hoping that one day anthropologists will find them who say, “They were just like us!”

Humanity has come up with some interesting solutions to this problem, but they are not universally applicable – most of these tools are focused on the Bell and Jalapenos varieties. There is an easier way, and all you need is a thin, sharp knife. Start by slicing off the top and bottom of the peppers so that you have a flat surface on the cutting board. After that, peer at the pepper. You can easily see the entire structure, and from there just follow the knife along the inner walls, cutting opposite sides each time to maintain stability.

You will have uniform slices perfect for cutting and dicing matches without those strange curly ends, and a rectangular prism filled with seeds that fits perfectly into the trash.
