PSA: If You Uninstall Apple Pay Cash, It Will Be Difficult to Reinstall It

Last week, with the launch of iOS 11.2, Apple officially launched Apple Pay Cash .

When you update your phone to version 11.2, the app will be automatically installed on your phone, which means it’s not in the App Store. Like other pre-installed Apple apps, it is also not meant to be uninstalled from your phone, but a bug in the operating system seems to allow people to do so.

Removing an app is easy as long as you don’t uninstall it and then decide you want to use Apple Pay Cash.

In this case, if you are going to have dinner with friends and someone wants to refund your money using the service, you cannot simply reinstall it on your phone as it is not in the App Store.

IDrop News originally reported that the only solution to the problem is to factory reset the phone, which is not exactly what you want, but we also found another solution:

1. Tap More in the right corner of the app drawer. 2. Click “Edit” in the upper right corner 3. After that, you will see that Apple Pay appears in the “Additional Applications” section. Just turn on the switch and Apple Pay Cash will reappear

The best plan of action is to just leave it on your phone and possibly dump it in a remote folder for safe storage. Just because you don’t want to use it now doesn’t mean that you don’t want to use it in the future.

Apple is likely to fix the issue in iOS 11.3.
