Assign Office Secret Santas in an Easy Way With This Slack Bot
Having a Secret Santa office can be fun. However, being in charge of organizing Secret Santa’s office can definitely not be fun. Depending on the size of your office, getting everyone together to draw the names can be challenging, and when you do, chances are good that somehow one guy who was on vacation the day of selection will be able to draw himself, and you have to do it all over again.
Now, however, if you work in an office that uses Slack, you can (thankfully) automate the whole thing.
To do this, you need to install the Secret Santa app in Slack at your workplace. Depending on who you are in your organization (read: if you’re important enough to be an administrator), this will be either super easy or potentially overwhelming.
Assuming you have it installed, you just need to select the people you want to include in your secret Santa drawing.
The application algorithm will figure out how to assign a colleague to everyone who participates, and everyone will receive a DM telling them who they are responsible for receiving the gift for.
That way, you don’t have to navigate through those “I drew it myself!” you can focus on what’s really important: getting a cupcake left on your table by an anonymous colleague posing as an elf.
