How to Split Airbnb Costs Between Friends
Booking a vacation with friends can be quite stressful and quite expensive if you pay the deposit. However, with Airbnb’s new Split Payments service, you can split the bill with your fellow travelers. Instead of paying the entire bill alone and waiting for your Venmo friends and you to share them, you can now take care of everything in one place.
You have 72 hours to pay
To take advantage of split payments, you’ll need to select an Airbnb rental that supports this service. Then, if you are the organizer, you will pay your share of the rent to secure the date and time of the booking, and send email notifications to all parties involved to contribute to the rental price. You have 72 hours from booking to get your team together and make them pay before you lose your seat.
Want to see who hasn’t invested? Trip organizers can check the Your Trips page to see who else needs to pay their share. All participating vacationers must create an Airbnb account to pay for their portion of the rental. Once that is done, it remains to be seen who gets the master ocean view bedroom.
