That’s When Android 8.0 Oreo Arrives on Your Current Phone

It’s been just over three months since Google released Android 8.0 Oreo , but if you’re not using one of the company ‘s own devices , you might still be missing out on the latest Android.

Phone manufacturers like Samsung, LG, HTC and Sony often take months to bring every Android update even to their latest high-end smartphones. If you are using the latest phone model and want to know when the update to Android 8.0 is coming out, here’s what you need to know – by phone manufacturer.

Samsung

Samsung launched Android 8.0 beta for the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus in early November, and has updated the test software a couple more times since then . A recent leak also revealed a longer list of devices allegedly set up to install Google’s new operating system, starting with the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy Note 5, but it could be months (or more) before all of these updates actually arrive.

Lg

The LG v30 was released in October after Android 8.0 was released, but still runs Android 7.0 out of the box. On Monday, the South Korean company finally unveiled a pre-release version of Oreo for the phone, but only in their home country. The final build of the software is due to launch in Korea this December, but we still don’t know when it will be available in the US.

Htc

HTC’s latest flagship phone got Android 8.0 on Monday – if you have an unlocked version. They are also working “ soon ” to get a version for the Sprint variant, according to Mo Versi, the company’s vice president of product management. He also said that similar updates for the HTC 10, U Ultra and U11 Life are also in the works.

Sony

Sony has really done a surprisingly good job of adding Android 8.0 to its smartphone lineup. The company released Oreo for the Xperia XZ, XZs and X Performance on Monday , and if you own the Xperia XZ Premium, you should already be using the new software as of the end of October .

Oneplus

The just announced OnePlus 5T doesn’t ship with Android 8.0, but it should receive an update early next year . The slightly older OnePlus 5 got its first Oreo beta on Monday, which you can get right from the company right now. If you’re using last year’s OnePlus 3 or 3T, you can download the official update now – it hasn’t been in over a week .
