This App Helps You Find McDonald’s With a Working Ice Cream Machine
I will order exactly two items from the McDonald’s menu: French fries and ice cream. For a while, McDonald’s was my closest option when it came to emergency milkshake (yes, there are occasional milkshake emergencies). Everything was fine until sometimes my run late at night or during the day ended up finding the ice cream machine not working … again. Now there is an app for that.
An app called “Ice Check”, currently iOS-only, directs you to the nearest working McFlurry machine near you.
The Verge reports that the app works using GPS information from your phone and reports from other McFlurry enthusiasts. So, you’re relying on other customers to tell you the machine isn’t working, which depending on how close you are to other like-minded people, it might be super reliable or never update.
McDonald’s employees can also enter data into the app, but in fact, I think we all know how often this is likely to happen.
Once you find McFlurry Outpost working, you can use the app to get step-by-step directions to a location, share your milkshake appointment with your friends, and unlock deals at multiple selected locations.
