Happy Hour With 3 Ingredients: Pear Branditini

Happy Friday, my best little ones, and welcome back to Happy Hour with 3 Ingredients , a weekly drinks column featuring super simple yet delicious libations. This week we are choosing autumn fruits while maintaining the classy flavor of the pear brandy martini.

Technically, there are only two ingredients in this drink, but I consider the strip of lemon zest needed to increase the amount to three. To be honest, the pear brandy is so aromatic – it clearly has a strong pear flavor – that even a little cocca americano is all it takes to turn it into a sophisticated cocktail. Do this as an aperitif before the turkey, or whisk a few to relax after serving. To make it you will need:

  • 2 1/2 ounce pear brandy
  • 3/4 oz Cocchi Americano
  • 1 strip of lemon zest

Pour two alcohols into a stirring glass and cover with ice. Stir until cool, strain into a compartment glass and pour the oils from the rind through the glass. Toss the zest into a glass and enjoy.
