Which of Your Favorite Foods Are in the Jars?

Hello and welcome back toWhat’s Cooking? , an open thread where you can share your brilliant thoughts, tips, recipes and opinions on all food related matters. This week I would like to talk to you about cans and cans and all the delicious things that go into them.

People can, for lack of a better word, be picky about food made from cans. This isn’t necessary, however, because there are many delicious – and downright fantastic – treats that come in canned or canned (you know, caviar), and I want to hear your favorites. A few questions to help you take a nap:

  • What are your favorite canned beans? I like canned fried beans, as well as baked beans, pinto beans, and black beans. I actually eat most of the canned beans, although I like to boil them in a little olive oil to make them a little stronger.
  • Have you ever made pumpkin pie without canned pumpkin? Were you happy with your decision? I have not, and I doubt I will ever be, unless one of you can make extremely strong arguments for such nonsense.
  • What cans or jars do you always have in your pantry? I always have a few cans of capers and olives on hand, and I love storing canned food with coconut cream and milk for sauces. Condensed milk is also very important to me.
  • How do you feel about SPAM? I love this salty meat, especially on masubi, and I don’t care who knows it.
  • What brand of canned tomatoes do you prefer? I love the Red Pack whole peeled plum tomatoes , but my New England partner insists on using the San Marzano tomatoes as a sauce .
  • What’s the trendiest thing you’ve ever bought from a bank? I once bought snails. It was unusual. But what I really want to try is tuna in olive oil .
  • Have you tried this Washington State canned cheese ? I’ve heard good reviews, but I’m not sure which scent to start with.
  • What canned fish do you like best? I know I am considered wax poetry in regards to sardines, but I really love the canned salmon croquettes. Now you know.
  • What canned fruits do you like? I love canned peaches and will always.
  • What are your favorite canned vegetables? I wouldn’t say I prefer this, but I have a soft spot for canned corn with cream.
  • How do you feel about canned soups and chili? Amy’s creamy tomato soup is pretty good and I really love Trader Joe’s turkey chili.
  • Have you heard the good news about wine cans ? I love can of Pinot Noir Underwood.

Feel free to flood comments with any canned delicacies that don’t fall into the above categories and give me a call if you ever want to go to this fish restaurant .
