Costco Launches Grocery Delivery Program to Compete With Amazon
Aside from the endless supply of samples, Costco has always attracted the attention of the fact that you can get a huge amount of food and sundries at very reasonable prices. But while Costco hasn’t needed an online presence in the past , the recent expansions of Amazon Prime Pantry and Amazon Fresh appear to have prompted the network to roll out two new delivery services.
You can read all about the two services here , but the main difference is how quickly your items are delivered:
- Costco Two-Day Product Delivery : Shipping is limited to non-perishable items and, as the name suggests, takes two business days. Shipping is free for orders of $ 75 or more, but there are no weekend shipping options, and no shipping to Alaska, Hawaii, or Puerto Rico.
- Costco Bulk Same Day Delivery: This service delivers fresh produce in addition to non-perishable, with orders arriving the same day, next day, or another day of your choice. Delivery is carried out on the same day within the hourly window in just two hours. In addition to prices that are approximately 15-17% higher than the warehouse entrance price, a 10% service charge is added to your order at checkout, and another charge is added to orders up to $ 35.
Regardless of which shipping program you use, Costco will immediately remind you that shopping at regular stores is still the cheapest route. Plus there are samples; no sample delivery (yet).
