Forget Sous Vide, This Week We’ll See What’s Going to Be a Casserole

Hello and welcome to Will It Casserole? , Retro Week’s answer to Will It Sous Vide? Basically, instead of doing whatever you want with my submersible circulation pump, I’m going to reimagine whatever you want me to turn into a casserole.

Welcome to Retro Week , where we light up the flux condenser and introduce you to the 1950s know-how of everything from making casseroles to building fallout shelters to joys for kids to relax and play with trash.

For those of you unfamiliar with the process, it goes something like this: I suggest some dishes, dishes and cooking concepts that I think could make good casseroles, and you add your own brilliant suggestions. in comments. You will also tag your favorites, and then I will go over all of your tasty ideas and pick one (or more) dishes to turn them into a casserole. Here are some of my thoughts on this:

  • Chicken Casserole with Caesar Salad: Maybe with a charred romance?
  • French Onion Soup Casserole: obviously with more cheese.
  • Hawaiian Pizza Casserole: Pineapple in savory dishes is definitely retro.
  • Thanksgiving Casserole: This will just be a lot of casseroles in one casserole plus a turkey.
  • Steak Casserole and Dinner: Obviously there will be a loaded baked potato here, but I’d like to add a martini somehow.
