Here’s What’s in Store for and Out of Netflix in October 2017
The creepiest month of the year is almost here, which means Netflix is shaking up its video streaming offerings again, adding some anticipated and downright scary sequels to the season while throwing some of the most beloved TV sitcoms to the sidelines.
Basic moments
Newcomers to the Netflix lineup include the cult classic Donnie Darko . If teenage anxiety and giant bunny costumes aren’t your thing, you can enjoy playing Will Ferrell as a pro racing driver in Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby, or FBI agent Sandra Bullock in Miss Congeniality (not to mention Miss Congeniality 2: Armed and gorgeous !).
When it comes to original content, Netflix has some good suggestions to look out for. Stranger Things season 2 is once again putting your favorite gang of naughty waffle-eating kids in jeopardy. Several heartbreaking original documentaries are also available, including The Death and Life of Marsha P. Johnson and The Kingdom of Us , which chronicle the death of a father in a family of seven. Need something easier? Try Patton Oswalt: Annihilation , the comedian’s upcoming comedy.
Netflix is ditching some pretty amazing classic TV shows from its roster, including all seven seasons of the critically acclaimed 30 Rock and all of Bernie Mac’s shows . However, this is not all bad news. At the very least, they remove Big Daddy , ridding everyone of the bland humor of Adam Sandler.
