Amazon Sent Emails From the Register of Children by Mistake

You may have been confused or alarmed. Perhaps you even wrote a message to your partner asking, “What do you know, what I don’t know ?!” If you received an email from Amazon yesterday claiming that someone bought something from your children’s registry, you are not alone. Tons of people opened the same message that looked like this:

The link directed recipients to the Amazon Kids Registry home page , where they unfortunately did not find any gifts awaiting them (hey, free stuff is free). Many were concerned that this could all be a phishing attempt, and I saw warnings from friends on Facebook urging those who received an email to change their Amazon passwords. But it doesn’t seem to be necessary. The message was confirmed by Amazon as an email error. Technical glitch . There is no need to panic.

The company later sent out an additional email with the subject line: “Oops! Sorry, we made a mistake. “

So, congratulations, you don’t have a children’s book unless you subscribed to it.
