Don’t Try to Create Your Own Poke Bowl

As someone who writes about how to cook delicious food, I’m all about creating my own versions of delicious, trendy food. In many cases, the homemade version of something will taste better and cost less money , but this is not the case when you pull the bowl.

I know that very rarely do I say to you, to you that something is not done, and listened to me. You should eat the wheelbarrow – a delicious plate of seasoned raw fish and other delicacies with sushi rice, but I would recommend entrusting it to professionals for several reasons:

Reason # 1: You need really good fish, and good fish is expensive

Unless you live on the water in a city where fresh fish is bottled, you won’t be able to find the fish you want in the supermarket. I live close to the ocean – I live in Portland, Oregon – and even my imaginary hippie grocery store didn’t have fish fresh enough to eat raw.

Unlike ceviche , which is processed and “boiled” in acid. The fish you put in the bowl is really raw, so you shouldn’t skimp on quality. Sure, you can find it at the fish market, but it will still set you back $ 16-30 a pound, depending on what kind of fish you want (these were the prices of “sushi grade” tuna and salmon when I checked my local fish market this morning, respectively.) By comparison, a fully engineered salmon poker bowl costs me less than $ 12 at a poké joint closest to me.

Reason # 2: Rice for sushi

Do you know how to make the perfect sushi rice? Okay, go out, put it in a bowl and put the expensive fish in there. But if you’re just now honing your general rice-making skills , now is probably not the time to try and master sushi rice.

Reason # 3: you probably end up buying a lot of additional services

You can just make a pumpkin with fresh fish, expertly cooked sushi rice and some shoyu, which would be nice, but many pumpkin bowl recipes require add-ons like avocado, radish, onion, nori, etc. cucumber, ponzu, sesame seeds and chili peppers. All of this is delicious, and you can get a surprisingly expensive grocery bill very quickly.

Reason # 4: Avocado.

Not only are avocados rented for life , they are dangerous and I don’t want you to have your hand with an avocado. (I admit that this reason is a little weak; just learn how to cut the avocado properly .)

Obviously, if you really want to make your own poke bowl, have access to some really good fish, and aren’t afraid to tackle sushi rice, come on my child. But don’t be discouraged that you don’t make your own. Not everything has to be homemade, and an assassinated restaurant will make your plate better for less money. And this, my friends, is the whole point. (Sorry. It was a joke.)
