Make Your Baked Goods Embossed Baked Goods

Have you ever looked at an empanada, wanting her to tell you what delicious filling it contained in its dough walls? If this scenario sounds familiar, I have good news: you can – as Twitter user @savelexi showed us – squeeze identifying information onto the dough so you no longer have to wonder if you’re reaching for chicken or beef again.

I couldn’t find an empanada bakeware press, but I did find this custom embossing kit that lets you stamp any words and phrases you like on cookies, fondants, and baked goods.

Aside from labeling delicious meat-filled pies, you can use letters to refer to other ingredients, especially those that people might be allergic to or avoid. Some ideas:

  • Check “VEGAN” on the batch of vegan cookies so you don’t have to constantly ask “yes, this is vegan” at your next dinner.
  • Apply RAISINS UGH to all raisin-containing treats to avoid them.
  • Put the names of the fruits inside the cakes with the crust to avoid getting the wrong berry (horrible tragedy).
  • Apply “NUTS” to foods containing nuts to warn people with allergies.

You get the idea. Of course, you don’t have to limit yourself to only identifying information. You can also use stamps to put your name on every baked item, treating every cookie, cake, and pie as your own.
